Cats Rescued From Japanese Home After Owner Hospitalized

Over 170 cats were rescued from a home in Japan when their owner was hospitalized. Obviously, this man was a cat hoarder – but it illustrates how we all need to be responsible pet parents and ensure our pets will be cared for if we aren’t able to care for them ourselves. 

Hordes of cats fight for life in locked house in Japan after owner admitted to hospital

An army of cats was left unattended in untidy surroundings, battling the hot summer without water, after a Japanese animal lover, their caretaker, fell ill and was hospitalized. Gunma Wan Nyan Network, an animal welfare organization, counted some 170 cats that were under the care of a man in his 60s in the Takasaki area of eastern Japan's Gunma province.
